OTHG Responsibility
- OTHG shall identify friendly businesses to hire and train unskilled, disadvantaged people.
- OTHG shall identify and confront less than friendly businesses that hire few or no Black people.
- OTHG shall negotiate:
- Starting salaries.
- Number of people to hire and train.
- Opportunities for on-the-job-training and/or apprenticeships.
Church Expectations
- Identify job applicants and aspiring entrepreneurs.
- Screen for best possible candidates.
- Communicate with each other to develop a job pool.
- Keep on-going dialog and promotion with members and other churches.
- Identify people who want to start or expand their existing business(es).
- Identify people realistically seeking jobs between $50,000 and $100,000.
- Help OTHG raise $50,000 for initial advertising, promotion and start-up expenses for OTHG Community Empowerment Initiativel.
What the Church Gets in Return
- More jobs and more income for parishioners.
- More recognition of efforts in the community and city at large.
- More self-esteem for parishioners.
- More money for the church.
- Another entity to help them promote their programs.
